*Big Apple To Big Easy - NY to New Orleans

Ok, so we learned of this interesting event on the Grassroots Motorsports messageboard. The basic premise. Get from NYC to New Orleans in 4 days, meeting challenges such as photo scavenger hunts along the way. Oh, and by the way, you have to do it in a vehicle purchased for $250 or less. Woooohoooo, stupid fun, how could we possibly say no? So an inkling of an idea was hatched, and it grew and grew and now Misfit Toys will be there....In style.

The Team

So far drivers are Jim Thwaite, Jim Wakemen, Rafael Amaya and Chris Abbott. Jim and Jim know each other from the South Jersey region SCCA. Jim met Chris and Rafael through Grassroots motorsports. The team stays updated on a little messagboard space graciously dontated off my wifes family website. If you want to tell us we are crazy, give us encouragement or just see what we are up to feel free to drop us a message there.

The Vehicle

We are happy to announce we have found the ultimate vehicle for our trek. An utterly pimtastic 1982 Chevrolet G20 Conversion van. Hey, its big, comfy, has a fold out bed and a bar and we can buy parts anywhere along the way, what more could you want?
