Fun little story about this car and just how insane I can be with cars. After my helping my buddy sell his Sunbeam Alpine on Ebay I agreed to deliver it to the new owner in Virginia. Now you have to understand, the trailer we use, while good and sturdy and reliable, has NO suspension. The axles are welded directly to the frame. When loaded this actually works fine, but when empty it bounces all over the road. I did not relish the idea of a 4 hour tow home empty. So I did what any reasonable adult would do....went on ebay and found something interesting and cheap in the same area as our buyer in virginia so I didnt have to tow home empty. Owner couldnt get it to start when we got there so we easily talked him into $300 (which is what I was paid to deliver the other car so I broke even) to get it out of there. As soon as he left my buddy with the Alpine got a big grin on his face sad in the drivers seat fiddled around with something to his side and fired her up. Seems the owner didnt know about the choke or where it was located. With the choke engaged it ran great. It sat in my barn (at the old place) waiting its turn when another friend decided he really wanted a toy for he and his wife to cruise in. It served them well for awhile but eventually succumed to rust.
